This special Playmobil set is based on Van Gogh's passion for writing and offers families worldwide a playful opportunity to get to know the artist's life and work. In Vincent's time, there were neither smartphones nor the Internet. Letters were the most important means of keeping in touch with people in the distance. Vincent was passionate about writing letters and liked to share his thoughts and feelings with others. Vincent's received correspondence comprises 903 letters. Most of these are addressed to his brother Theo, his best friend and loyal supporter. Vincent added small sketches to some letters to show what he was working on. Theo carefully kept his brother's letters. Vincent himself handled it less carefully - in his travels he threw away many letters or even burned them. Fun to know: The PLAYMOBIL sketchbook features a page with two sketches; one of them is, just like in Vincent's original sketchbook, upside down.
